We are accepting applications from debut authors or illustrators with major U.S. publishers, listed in the Children’s Writers and Illustrators Market or with the Children’s Book Council. If you are a debut author or illustrator with your first children’s or teen book coming out in 2009 or beyond, let us know. Your publisher must be part of the CWIM or CBC at the time of application. *Unfortunately, there are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.* Please determine this yourself before applying. We will not verify your publisher for you.

Is this free?
Yes, it’s free because the relatively low cost to build and maintain this website does not really justify trying to collect small sums of money from so many members.
What will I need to do?
To be a part of AuthorsNow!, you will need to sign up via the form below. Once the administrator approves your application, then all you’ll need to do is complete a profile form with your book information and whatever else you want to say about yourself. At minimum, that’s it. But we ask that you try to help out when you can. AuthorsNow! is always happy to accept volunteer help.
How is this different from other debut groups?
AuthorsNow! includes all traditionally published children’s book authors – all formats and genres. Fiction and Non., and illustrators. If you’re not sure if your publisher qualifies, check the Children’s Writers and Illustrators Market or the CBC. Again, we will not verify your publisher for you.) AuthorsNow! seeks to create a collaborative atmosphere with all groups like Debut 2009 and The Class of 2009, etc. In fact, many of our members belong to these fabulous circles. Joining AuthorsNow! does not preclude you from joining other groups.
How will my books get the attention it deserves?
Your author page should be thoughtful and well-conceived. However it’s important to understand, our aim is NOT to push product. If a bookseller, librarian, parent, or teacher is looking for a new middle grade adventure book, and they search AuthorsNow!, they’ll find you. Voila!
But how do I give myself more attention than that?
Providing content to AuthorsNow! that highlights yourself or your book in a constructive fashion is also another great opportunity to increase your visibility. You can also become an AN! columnist. Just ask!
How many members will AuthorsNow! have?
There is no limit to the number of members who can join. The more members though, the more traction AuthorsNow! will get, and the more likely you and your book will be found. So tell your debut author friends about this excellent opp!
What if I don’t have all the information for my book or what if the information changes?
AuthorsNow! members have the ability to update their posts at any time. So when the information comes in, you can hop online with your login and make the necessary changes. We do ask that you check with your publishers before you post covers and descriptions in case they would like you to keep that private until a future date. This is rare, but it does happen.
