I love to get to the end of a good book. The problem is, once I begin a riveting story, I ignore everything else until I close the final cover. My devoted husband and loving children don’t mind this one bit; they possess similar obsessions. So, on any given day, with every nose in a book, dinner might not get cooked. It’s a good thing everyone loves cereal. When I’m not turning pages, I enjoy life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I have worked as a teacher and school librarian for over twenty years. I enjoy hiking, gardening, traveling, and cooking. My family doesn’t eat cereal every night.

From Idea to Book: Takes students through the writing and publishing process, including story.
Be an Author: From brainstorming to revisions, students will create a story and mock up a picture book dummy. 90 minutes. Elementary/Middle
Storytelling 101: Interactive storytelling with audience participation. 35 minutes Preschool/Lower Elementary
Research and Writing: Using a pathfinder, students learn to brainstorm through a selected topic and design a research project. 90 minutes. Middle School.

Honorarium and Fees

Honorarium is $300 for one half day (up to three hours) and $600 for a full day. Out of state travel and lodging will be billed at actual expense, or may be arranged by the school.
