Sarah Rees Brennan
Location: Dublin, Ireland {Republic}
Sarah Rees Brennan was born and raised in Ireland by the sea, where her teachers valiantly tried to make her fluent in Irish (she wants you to know it’s not called Gaelic) but she chose to read books under her desk in class instead. After living briefly in New York and doing a Creative Writing MA and library work in Surrey, England, she has returned to Ireland to write and use as a home base for her future adventures. Her Irish is still woeful, but she feels the books under the desk were worth it.
She can’t write poetry at all, which is why she’s featured in a book of poetry with Seamus Heaney. Ireland’s like that sometimes – you write something on a napkin and next thing you know, you have to go meet the Poet Laureate. She belongs to the 2009 Debutantes, an awesome group of first-time authors who mainly talk about tiaras and keeping fictional characters in cellars, and she really (no, really, really) hopes you like her books.Latest Books
